The Price of a Hollywood Smile

Let’s face it: we all want perfect teeth. The final hurdle for most, though, is knowing the exact cost of a complete treatment.

The most convenient and effective route to perfect teeth is through dental veneers, a porcelain-like material which is bonded to the visible part of the teeth.  

How do veneers work?

Initially, your teeth will need to be shrinked — that is, reduced in size — so that the veneers can fit comfortably. By reducing teeth size, veneers will be able to take the place with the right fit. This will make it feel as natural as possible.  

How much does it cost?

At least eight teeth must be covered with veneers, but some dentists may advise you to likewise cover your other teeth with veneers. Normally each teeth costs P20,000, so the total cost for veneers will range from P160,000 to P320,000.  

What about maintenance?

Dentists will recommend using a sonic toothbrush, which costs from P10,000 to P25,000. A checkup each quarter will likewise be ideal. Each checkup will cost P1,500 and up.  

Process:

The process to get veneers takes at least three sessions. The first visit will be used to take a cast of your mouth and bite, so that your dentist can plan for the teeth shrinking. Anesthesia is then applied before shaving off the teeth — it’s a painless process, don’t worry — which paves the way for another cast. Temporary veneers are then applied. The final cast will be sent to a laboratory to construct the final veneer, which may take a week or two. The second session involves fitting the new veneer for a trial run, inspecting any discomforts. The third and final visit will present you with natural-looking veneers, which will be applied to the teeth one by one, which takes around an hour.
