Genuine Halitosis

Bad breath that originates from the mouth such as cavities, gum disease, bacterial imbalance on the tongue, impacted wisdom teeth, etc.

Intra-Oral Halitosis

A type of bad breath that is emitted from the oral cavity. This includes post nasal drip, tonsil stones, bacterial imbalance in the back of throat, retro-nasal mucosa. There are also those that originate from the digestive tract. A such as those caused by chronic gastritis, hiatal hernia, stomach and duodenal ulcers, lazy colon syndrome, which are from the digestive tract.

Also called Delusional Bad Breath which is a psychological condition where a patient believes he or she suffers from breath odor when there is none.
